Questions about the Diocesan Services Appeal
|

Programs, Cathedral focus of special three-year campaign
|
This is the third of five articles in the Catholic Herald that will answer questions about the Diocesan Services Appeal and explain why the 2002-2003 appeal is different than those in prior years.
How will the work on the cathedral financially affect the scope of the appeal? Each year, the DSA raises over $1 million. Over the next three years, there will be an additional emphasis on giving in order to meet the cost of preserving the cathedral, a cost that is expected to be $3 million.
What if our parish surpasses our goal? All dollars raised over the parish goal are funded directly back to the parish.
Is this a good time to ask for additional financial support? There is never really an ideal time to ask for additional financial support, due to the constant ebb and flow of economic indicators. However, once campaigns such as this are completed, most parishes would tell you they were happy they went forward. Construction costs generally increase every year.
If you have additional questions about the DSA or the preservation and enhancement of the Cathedral of Christ the King, Tarnowski can be reached at 715-392-2937.
