Park Falls parish celebrates pope's anniversary

PARK FALLS -- Students, faculty and parishioners at St. Anthony in Park Falls joined Fr. Jim Jackson in a special Mass to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pope Paul II.

During the Mass, the students from the school joined the celebration by dancing an assortment of liturgical dances in various costumes. During his opening remarks, Fr. Jackson gave the children a brief history of John Paul He also told the audience, "We celebrate the 25th anniversary with all the other Catholic churches in the world. And let us not forget - the Lord is also attending the special 25th anniversary Masses held in those churches."

"Throughout the years, the Pope has been the rock on which we build our church," said Fr. Jackson. "We must also pray for Pope John Paul II as we celebrate with him today."
